I'm an amateur astronomer and a very amateur maker and coder.
For my first ever Gambas project I was perhaps a little ambitious - but succeeded  :D  in making a program that loads an image of the Sun or Moon that has a little (or lot) of the limb (edge) showing and then removes any foreshortening that you get from features that are close to the edge, i.e. you get a view from above...

Once the software understands the input image you can click on any object and it will show the ViewFromAbove.

I've really enjoyed writing this and getting to know Gambas - I've already got other astronomical project Ideas waiting in the wings.

DIYTinkerer is in the usergroup ‘Regular’
 Now Published on GambasFarm, it doesn't fit very well into the categories shown so you have to go to 'all software' to find it

Congratulations on this first program.
I must confess I don't know exactly what it's about, but I downloaded a picture of the moon from the Internet and clicked around a bit. It looks nice.  :D
