I must admit that the musical intro from the first Gambas screen freaks me out a bit…I always wonder where it is coming from.

I know it plays on Christmas day and Easter Sunday; has anyone noticed it on other days of the year?

Yeah, it can be a little startling at times.

Was waiting to hear what it was.  Now going to wait until Easter to hear the other one.  (Yes I could simply find the mp3 but that's cheating.    )

Did you notice the snow too?

I'd like a switch to turn the audio off.  it's nice but my computer is also my music system and the bells play over my music :-\

Yep.  Wonder if we'll get eggs on Easter.

I hear ya on the switch.  Guess you just need to start Gambas up in the morning and keep it running all day.

I have modified my FWelcome.class PlaySound command like this…


So now whenever it plays the sound it makes a note of the month in the settings.
if the stored month matches the day because it's been played once already then it does not play the sound again but it shows the snow.

Ahh i love the music but my computer is also my music player and it's annoying when the intro music plays over and over again.
So the above mod got a little tweak.

So at about line 136 of FWelcome.class It's these 2 lines i add…

Doing it that way means the snow still shows when it should but the sound will only play once on the days in question.

It suprises a little, I think it should have an option in Prefereces to set all off .

Well, I love it.
It's always a surprise but once you know what it is, it's not a problem.
(Well apart from Mr Grasshopper Speers, I can understand his ire when it interrupts his recording sessions….

haha, It's not recordings that irk it's just playback.

Am currently (right now) using my pc to play a movie on one screen and use gambas on the other.
When doing that the music playing over the movie every time i launch gambas is annoying.

But it has played once today and not played again, because the gambas IDE is awesome, and easy to edit

I suggest "gambas3 –anddontplayanysurprisingmusicatmetwiceayearbutkeepthesnowflakesOK?"
I'm sure you could come up with that mod and submit it to Benoit. :-)

Gambas One - Gambas ONE

On certain Christian holidays gambas plays music every time you load it.
But my gambas only plays the music once on those days.

 Interesting. I've had Gambas open on those days, including today, and never heard the music. I guess maybe I'm lucky?

Well now... I just opened up Gambas again after having closed it a few hours ago. I heard the music and saw the tears. I thought it was pretty cool that Benoit has done something like that.
