 This is good but I have discovered that Gambas, of any version, is NÒT included in the Ubuntu 18.04 repositories! I think this is very unfortunate as Ubuntu is the base for many other distros.

Could you try again as this might have been sorted earlier this week:-

I haven't upgraded my Lubuntu yet because there are always problems with upgrades. I'll need to test on an old computer first …when I find time!

I have tried Gambas 3:11 on Ubuntu 18.04 but I needed to use the ppa.

What I meant was that Gambas is not in the Ubuntu 18.04 repositories. It's not there at all!

If you have a look here https://packages.ubunt…allpackages?format=txt.gz you can search all packages.

EDIT: - Gambas 3.11.1 is now in the stable ppa for Ubuntu 16.04 & Mint 18.3

 I just tried out Solus, which is up and coming. It wasn't there either.

 :lol: Sounds like really good advice!

However, is there a ppa or something that I can use for 18.04?

Hi Steve,

The Terminal command I use for *buntu, Mint etc. distros is: -

Code

sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:gambas-team/gambas3 && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y install gambas3

This will add the ppa and install or update Gambas3 stable.

 I have Gambas 3, daily working on Mint 19.1.  The "stable" PPA setup fails with an "Error in Line 1 message".  However, the daily PPA registered without a problem, and the download installed with no problems as well.

Hi reason and welcome to the forum. I use Mint 19 (19.1 is not out yet!) and have no trouble with the command as used in my post of Monday 27th August 2018 above. What did you use?
