A guess - you used a gmail adress.

The great google corporation has deemed that anyone that uses their bug ridden mail system is not worthy of receiving any mail from anyone other than their own advertisers.

Try another free email provider.

The problem is with gmail. It blocks mail from servers in a willy-nilly manner.
The Gambas wiki and bugtrackers send you a confirmation email but gmail just silently drops it.
The problem is at the gmail end and no-one here or in the greater Gambas world can do anything about it.
It's not the only server in the world that gets blocked by the way.
As I said, use a different email provider and you should have no problem.
Or complain to google …  :D

It only takes a moment to sign up to something like proton mail  Proton Mail: Get a free email account with privacy and encryption | Proton

You can make a temporary proton mail account, then use it to register with the bug tracker.

Once registered you can then use the bugtracker settings to change your email back to your gmail account.

The bug-tracker does work with gmail it's just the automatic registration conformation email that fails.

So you do not need to keep your proton mail account , just use it to register.

yes it's a little inconvenient, but most of us gmail users have had to do it.

My guess is you figured it out as an Allan B just started posting on the bugtracker from a proton mail account.
 :)
PS. i believe getting email notifications of replies on the bugtracker also does not work with gmail so if you want email notifications keep the proton mail address.

It depends on how the host's email server is set up. Benoit's server is most likely set up to reject or ignore any email from the .gmail domain. I have multiple gmail accounts and have no issues using those account for sending and receiving email, or registering. Some email domains are worse than others for spam abuse. Just like some websites are a magnet for spammers.

Sholzy, that makes no sense.

I don't know the bug tracker's back end. Any forum or website I've run, I can ban/ignore/reject any email from certain domains from being used. It's been awhile since I've set up an smtp server, but if I remember correctly, I can do the same thing through the config. When I ran the original Gambas Forum years ago, it was a magnet for spammers using certain email address domains such as 126.com or yahoo.com. I could blacklist 126.com email addresses from being used.

Setting up a server to silently reject or ignore a registration using gmail.com is not good. At least let the registrant know that email domain is not accepted.
