Problems opening project elements.

The problem started about two Gambas versions ago.(?)

When I double click on a form, class or module in the left-hand panel in the GUI, it simply dosen't open and takes a number of tries.

Initially, I put this down to me being an "old fart" with slowing reflexes but on investigation, I found that it's only happeneing in Gambas. I have no issues in any other application that requires double-click processes.
I've tried lowering the double click speed in the Mouse settings on my Mint system and that helped a little but feel that it's a band-aid rather than a fix.
I can always right-click-open so it's not an issue but feel that it has changed somehow.

I just want to see if others have experienced something similar?

Cheers - Quin.

Same here, thinking I'm an old fart too
I'm on Gambas 3.19.6.
I did not have it in Gambs 3.18.4 (I  believe to remember).

You can count me in on this. There are a few double-click events that are difficult to get working like setting and unsetting break points.

Please add me to the 'old farts' list.

double click, one time ok, next ok, next problem,
I thought my mouse gets old …

Thanks all.

I'll make a post on the Gambas mailing list about it.

I'm glad that it's not just a "Me & my Computer" problem. I do seem to have quite a few of those when the Gambas gremlins are running rampant.

I still get PTSD from doing global Search & Replaces.

Personally I have upgraded to Gambas 3.21.2 and haven't had that problem.  Guess it was fixed in the new version. Currently I amd using Linux Mint 22.2. The normal version for that distro is Gambas 3.19. That version I did have different problems with it so I upgraded to the latest version.

Thanks cage. I'm on the same versions (Mint & 3.21.2) as you and the issue exists for me.

I have tried some experimentation such as selecting the element first - pausing for a few seconds, in case there is some background tasks happening and then double-clicking.
I'm still undecided on the outcome - I'll keep testing that one.

The one element that is ALWAYS hard to open, is a connection element. That is really hit-or-miss.

I'll monitor for anymore input from other users before posting to the emailing list.

Thanks to all for the feed-back so far.

Just updated to 3.21.2 (Ubuntu 24.04) and it seems after a few tests it behaves better than before
