Installed in debian 13.4

Hello

Debian 13 installs  gambas3.20.4

Gambas compilers/interpreters work fine
Only the IDE do not open, appears a dialog with something like:

[gb.jit]  Application_Log  symbol not found in Project class.

I can compile using terminal and run my apps, but no ide due to this bug.
Can anyone add a notice in this topic when it gets fixed ? Thanks

Regards

Sergio

Hi  :)
I’m not exactly an expert here.
But version 3.21.4 runs fine on my Devuan Excalibur (which is based on Debian Trixie (13)).
How did you install Gambas?
I installed it using the Gambas packages; it works great and always updates immediately via apt.

/doc/packages - Gambas Documentation

If you follow these instructions, the installation is really easy. But if you run into any problems, feel free to ask anytime.
But maybe the experts here can offer more insight into your specific issue.

beste regards
Poly

Hello Sergio,

You are at the wrong spot to get Gambas in the Debian repositories fixed. For that you will need to report a bug at Debian.
These are the Debian repositories, they create the gambas packages and they are responsible for them not working.
The reason they don't work properly is because they do not packages Gambas as they should.
Gambas community can't fix their mess and thus both Debian and Ubuntu Gambas is crap.

But, don't worry, Gambas has its own repository with a proper packaged Gambas that should do a way better job.
Poly pointed you to where you need to be to get it all installed. You will then get version 3.21.5 on Debian 13.

Enjoy..
