because it does not exist in the available methods…

gb.sdl2 is a very simple interface that does not support much.

That's what I gathered from the wiki

I could be wrong.

I'll investigate a bit more.

I assume regular paint functions do not work

Annoyingly you can add GB.opengl component, then image has many more options but none of them work.
